Overview of The Role
PPL Training are a leading Facilities Management training company, delivering nationally recognised certified training and assessed courses. They provide Mechanical and Electrical Safe Systems of Work courses that offer high quality training for Authorised and Competent Persons, in order to meet the requirements of a wide range of industries and sectors; including Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare (NHS) and Ministry of Defence (MOD). Due to increased demand for training, we are looking for a Senior Electrical Training Consultant to be based in either our York or Slough Training Centres.
Job Specification
Training and Development
- Deliver training events to agreed standards at PPL training centres or on customer premises, throughout UK and occasionally overseas
- Carry out assessment of candidates against established criteria
- Develop both open and bespoke events to meet specified needs
Quality Management
- Ensure that delivery standards and service levels meet customer expectations
- Process promptly all associated documentation concerned with the above activities
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Professional Fire Safety qualification, Management or leadership qualification and a relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH / IOSH).
Desirable
- Building Services qualification at QCF level 4 or above (HNC or equivalent)
- Recognised Internal Quality Assessor qualification (D32/33, A1 or equivalent)
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a Fire Service, combining practical operational experience and knowledge of enforcement and risk assessment.
- Have thorough knowledge of HTMs, Fire Safety, Fire Risk Assessments, Fire Legislation and Codes of Practice and Fire Safety Training.
- Suitable experience in maintenance and operation of fire safety equipment, including fire/smoke damper testing, fire door inspection and fire stopping/ segregation surveying.
- A full driving license and be willing to work away from home for short periods
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of prevention and detection of fire in domestic, commercial and industrial premises.
- Knowledge of types of fire detection, alarm systems and Emergency lighting.

Desirable
- Previous teaching or training experience
- Literate in MS office applications

£42-44K dependent upon experience/ location
