We asked PPL Training’s Sales Director, Jonathan Eland, 10 questions about his time at PPL, career prior to joining PPL and his interests outside of the workplace.

My name is Jonathan Eland, I am the Sales Director at PPL Training,
How long have you been working in Sales?
Probably around 21/22 years
When did you join PPL Training?
I joined PPL Training in April 2013
What industries have you worked in prior to joining PPL Training?
Previous to working for PPL Training, I had worked in Manufacturing within Production Control.
Why did you pursue a career in Sales?
It happened by accident, it’s a long story that I’m happy to share over a cuppa.
Describe one of your biggest accomplishments in your career…
Becoming Sales Director for PPL Training having joined back in 2013 as an account manager, it has been an incredible journey.
How has PPL Training helped you to further your career?
By investing in me through personal development training programmes and believing in my ability to drive the company sales forward.
If you were to name one person, who has been your biggest influence as a salesperson / leader, who would it be and why?
This may not sound great but I would say myself. I taught myself and it goes back to question 5, it’s all about being determined and never giving up for me.
Do you have any future goals for you and your team?
Just to continue growing the client base and team and increasing turnover year on year and doing it with a smile and laughter.
And finally… What do you like to do outside of work?
I’m a qualified football referee so spend most of my free time doing this for all age groups men and women. I was also recently appointed as referee coordinator for the Premier League 5 a side youth tournament at my local venue in Reading. We also have 2 dogs which keep us entertained and busy and love a good holiday with a beach and a pool.
